The software handles typography absolutely brilliantly, and despite having all the tools you need to be precise and produce professional-looking documents, it is very easy to learn and use. InDesign is so good that it quickly became the industry standard almost immediately after its released 20 years ago and still even today it has no rivals.
If you add other Adobe software (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) to the list, the price becomes steep.
